My Style

Ok....here is a wall of the minis I have made recently....notice anything? Does something stand out to you? It's those 3 pesky 30's quilts! LOL You know how when you see a certain designer's work you know right away it's a Peggy Waltzman,or a Judie Rothermel.....I think I am heading to a certain style. I love civil war prints and styles. I love Thimbelberries. I can't get enough. My daughter calls my quilts depressing.....I made a conscious effort to break out of the style by making some colorful quilts recently, but those just don't make me feel the same way my little civil war ones do. Am I making any sense?

So I guess the 30's ones gotta go! LOL They will make their way into swaps I suppose. Who knows-maybe someday you will look at a quilt and say "That's a Tracy Crawford". Hee Hee.

Shoo Fly

Just finished this little top....never tried this pattern before.

Update on Swappers

Small & Scrappy Quilt Swap Announced!

Ok....I know what you must be thinking: ANOTHER little quilt swap? What can I say? I am hopelessly addicted! And so I find myself hosting another little quilt swap. NOT to be confused with the quilt swap by that name. LOL Here are the particulars:

There will be 25 swappers. The sign-ups will close at the end of June or when we have 25 swappers which ever comes first.

The small and scrappy quilt swap is a QUILTER'S CHOICE swap.....this means that you get to determine what colors and patterns you make to give. If you are not ok with loving whatever someone has made for you, then perhaps this swap is not for you. It is also a secret swap, and the person you send to is not the person you will receive from.

The quilts are to be scrap quilts.(Hey....gotta make them different than all the other ones so you will want to play!)What is a scrap quilt? Using lots of fabrics and colors and anything goes....not an organized color scheme. It also means trying (note the use of the word trying)to utilize what is already in your stash. Quilts should be quilted and bound.

The fabrics should be 100% quality cotton. The size should be no smaller than 12" or no larger than 20". Include a label that says the following:Small and Scrappy Quilt Swap Summer 2008.made for____ by_____

The quilt should be in your partner's hands on August 1st. If you have an international partner, please realize this might mean mailing 3 weeks before the deadline.

To play you must have an active blog OR pictures of your work on Flicker. If you don't have a blog, then you must be ok to receive anything your partner sends. Although this is a quilter's choice swap, some like to get a look at your style/color preferences from your own work.

Another component: Please include 50 two inch squares from your stash in a baggie. This will be an interesting way to get some different scraps for more little scrappies!

Once the sign ups are closed,I will open a Flicker Group to share talk and pictures. To sign up,please email me the following info tlhcrawford@aol.com

1.Name
2. Email Address
3.Mailing address
4.blog address

This is Cooper

Our 9 month old Picardy Shephard puppy. He is roughly the size of a moose. He is a french dog. Pretty rare. He is the breed that the dog in the movie "Winn Dixie" is. Although he is a cutie,he is very strong, very opinionated, and loves to eat fabric. Needless to say,he is banished from the sewing room.

Give Away!

This is my first give away....to celebrate my first full week of summer vacation. It is approx. 9 1/2" by 11"....full of scrappy cuteness. I am continuing on with my scrappy squares obsession! All you need to do is leave a comment and tell me WHY you want it. A winner will be announced next Monday.

Little Star Quilt

Finished another little top today....third straight day of 100 degree weather. Even with the AC on it is literally a sweatshop in my sewing room! This pattern is another from Kathleen Tracy's Yahoo group. It gave me a wee bit of trouble! Now to quilt them all.....

Country Lanes

This is a little quilt top I made last night and finished up this morning. I still need to quilt it. The pattern is by Kathleen Tracy, the author of those wonderful doll quilt books. She has a Yahoo Group called SmallQuiltTalks all about little quilts! She puts challenge patterns on for members. I joined last night and this is the first challenge. Now on to challenge no. 2! She also has a third doll quilt book coming soon! Yeah!

Me and my girl

Here is a picture of my soon to be teenager Kaitlyn and I.....cell phone in hand. And so it starts. Be kind....don't click to enlarge this one....no makeup! Hee Hee.

Obsessed with Minis

This is a little mini I am handquilting....made from my scrapbag. All my favorite civil war prints that were too small to do anything else with. I am totally loving the simplicity of this and the way it looks. I will definately make more!

Doll QUilt Swaps

I am involved in a number of doll quilt swaps.....it is frustrating when you can't find out what colors and styles your person likes. So....for anyone who may have me as a partner: have at it! I would love anything you make! I tend to make quilts that are in scrappy civil war styles.....but make what makes you happy!
